Submitting Artwork
For decals & other screenprinted pieces:
The Screen
Tech art department uses Macintosh computers
and can accept files in Mac or PC formats.
We can also create vector art files from
Photoshop and other scanned files ($45
per hour art fees apply for this service).
Scanned objects are not suggested, but
can be used in certain cases within the
context of your piece.
For signage and vehicle lettering using computer cut vinyls:
The Roeda
Signs art department uses IBM-compatible
computers and requires files in PC format.
Vinyl cutting requires files in vector
format. Freehand and Illustrator files
can be converted by the Screen Tech art
dept. Photoshop and other scanned files
are unacceptable for cutting purposes.
Applicable charges will be incurred for
recreating artwork in vector format.
For digitally printed pieces:
Specifications vary from piece to piece. However, we do have some general guidelines: Adobe Illustrator and like files are acceptable. Photoshop images must be created at 300 dpi; for other image files we prefer tiff files, also at least 300 dpi. It is usually best to call or fax us your specifications before sending. E-mail files to: roeda@screentech.com
Acceptable File Formats:
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Photoshop (please leave in layers)
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe Pagemaker
- Macromedia Freehand
- PDF
- Quark XPress
- Corel Draw
- EPS
- TIFF (4-Color Process or one color only, no multiple spot colors) - Save at 300 dpi resolution and all colors need to be CMYK at 100% transparency
Preferred Submission Method:
- PLEASE SEND DIGITAL FILES WHENEVER POSSIBLE - include a hard copy printout of your artwork or a JPEG of your email file for our visual reference.
- We provide templates for most of our products to assist you in laying out your artwork. Our templates reference final print size, minimum bleeds and cut margins.
- We prefer vector art (Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Freehand).
- All fonts should
be
converted
to
paths
(create
outlines).
If
you
submit
a font
file with
your
artwork
we must discard it.
Non-converted or supplied
fonts
will
be always substituted
with
camparable
fonts from our
Adobe
Font
Library.
- All spot colors must be named with either a Stouse Standard Ink Color or a Pantone® Ink Color designation.
- All placed (imported) images should either be embedded in your digital file or included as a separate file with your submission.
- If emailing or uploading digital files, we recommend putting all your files in a single folder and compressing it using Stuffit™ before uploading it. Compressed files will upload faster and will decrease chances of file corruption.
